Two of the lightest production race bikes on the road, with very different sales models behind them. The Trek Émonda SLR is a sub-700 g OCLV 800 frame sold through one of the densest dealer networks in the US. The Giant TCR Advanced is the value benchmark that built the compact-frame category and still undercuts most rivals at every trim. Both climb like crit bikes and corner like the racers their teams ride. The interesting choices are size geometry, dealer reach, and how much you care about an integrated cockpit.

The two bikes do not line up cleanly because Giant uses letter sizing. A Giant TCR Medium (532/390) sits between a Trek Émonda 52 (528/379) and 54 (537/383) - closest to the 54 on stack but with a noticeably longer reach. The Giant M/L (562/393) lands between Trek 56 (550/389) and 58 (568/394). At the small end, the Giant XS (488/369) is shorter than any Émonda; riders under about 5'3" should look at the TCR. Giant runs longer in reach at every comparable stack, so Trek riders moving across will want to drop one size or shorten the stem.
If price matters at all, the Giant TCR Advanced is the rational pick - it gives up almost nothing to the Émonda on the road and saves enough money to fund a power meter and a deep wheelset. The Trek Émonda SLR justifies its premium for riders who want the absolute lightest production frame, Project One paint, or the convenience of walking into a Trek shop in any US town. The frames are close on stiffness and weight at the top end. Fit, budget, and dealer access should drive the call.
Trek Émonda SLR - eight sizes give finer fit resolution and the H1.5 geometry runs a touch more relaxed than the TCR's longer reach
Tie - the Émonda's frame is lighter but the TCR's price savings funds upgrades that close the gap on the road
