Do not treat M/L as a rare size
Giant uses M/L to cover a real middle ground for many adult road and gravel riders. If you sit at the top of Medium, compare M/L before jumping straight to Large.
2026 frame sizes by height and inseam for TCR, Defy, Propel, Revolt, Talon, Trance and Reign
Giant uses compact S-XL sizing on its road and gravel bikes rather than numeric frame labels, so you pick a letter size instead of a 54 or 56. Find your height in the chart, confirm the row against your inseam, then compare stack and reach if you are deciding between a TCR, Defy, Propel, Revolt, Talon, Trance or Reign. Most riders land on the same letter across Giant's road and gravel range, while trail bikes often feel sharper one size down. If you fall between two sizes, the smaller one rides more aggressively and the larger one gives you more room.

Fit decision guide
Giant's compact road sizing makes the letter on the frame less useful on its own. S, M, M/L and L cover broad height ranges across TCR, Defy, Propel and Revolt, so reach and front-end height matter once the table gives you two possible sizes.
Best first check
Use height to choose the likely letter size, then use inseam and reach to settle overlaps such as M vs M/L.
Road and gravel
Most riders stay on the same letter across TCR, Defy, Propel and Revolt, but the posture changes by model.
Trail bikes
Trance and Reign can feel better one size down if you want easier handling on slow or technical trails.
Giant uses M/L to cover a real middle ground for many adult road and gravel riders. If you sit at the top of Medium, compare M/L before jumping straight to Large.
The sloping top tube gives plenty of standover, so riders sometimes size up too quickly. Reach and bar drop tell you more than standover once both sizes clear safely.
Best for: fast road riders who want a lower, more forward position
Choose the smaller option in an overlap if you want sharper handling or expect to run a longer stem.
Fit tip: Compare reach before changing the frame size. A cockpit swap may solve a small fit issue.
Best for: endurance road riders who want less bar drop than TCR or Propel
Defy can use the same letter size as Giant race bikes, but the taller front end makes the fit feel less stretched.
Best for: gravel and all-day riders who need room for mixed-surface handling
Revolt often matches the rider's Giant road letter size. If you are in an overlap, check reach with your preferred gravel bar width before sizing up.
Best for: off-road riders choosing between easy handling and more room at speed
If you are between letters, pick the smaller frame for tight trails and the larger one for stability on faster terrain.
Let your riding position make the call after the height row narrows it down. Giant's compact frames give standover room, but a long cockpit is harder to fix than a slightly short one.
Specific sizing recommendations for Giant's most popular bike models. Geometry measurements shown for reference size (typically M or 54cm).
Pure race bike with aggressive geometry. Compact frame design pioneered by Giant allows for optimal stiffness and lighter weight.
Endurance road bike with D-Fuse seatpost for comfort. More upright position suits long-distance riding.
Trail bike with 135mm rear travel. Maestro suspension system provides excellent traction; riders often size down for aggressive riding.
Versatile gravel bike with D-Fuse handlebar and seatpost. Geometry balances stability and agility for mixed terrain.
Full-suspension e-MTB with Yamaha SyncDrive Pro3 motor and 800Wh EnergyPak battery. 150mm rear and 160mm front travel with Maestro suspension-the battery-low design keeps weight centered, so sizing follows standard Trance recommendations.
E-adventure bike designed for touring and mixed-surface riding with Yamaha SyncDrive Sport motor and 500Wh battery. Relaxed geometry with clearance for 50mm tires-available in traditional and low-step frames for easy mounting.
Fitness-focused flat-bar e-bike with Yamaha SyncDrive Core motor and 500Wh battery. Sporty geometry bridges the gap between road and hybrid-riders seeking speed with assist should size as they would for Giant's road bikes.
Aero race bike with integrated cockpit and deeper tube profiles than the TCR - size M sits at 545 mm stack / 383 mm reach, roughly 13 mm taller in stack than the TCR Advanced at the same size. Riders moving from a TCR to a Propel can stay on the same numeric size but should expect a slightly less aggressive cockpit thanks to the integrated bar.
Dedicated cyclocross race bike - higher BB and steeper head angle than the Revolt gravel frame. Size M is 556 mm stack / 376 mm reach, almost identical to the Revolt Advanced at the same size (580/378), so cross-shoppers can use the same size. Tire clearance is narrower than the Revolt (33 mm UCI legal vs 45 mm) so it is not a substitute for the gravel platform on rough terrain.
Entry-level hardtail with 100 mm fork and 29 inch wheels. Size M (611 mm stack / 424 mm reach) suits riders around 169-179 cm. Conservative geometry compared with the Talon's trail-oriented siblings - first-time mountain bikers cross-shopping the Trek Marlin 7 or Specialized Rockhopper Comp 29 will find similar fit at the same letter size. Run a 27.5 wheelset on XS / S frames for shorter riders.
XC race full-suspension with 100/110 mm travel. Size M (593 mm stack / 450 mm reach) sits between the Talon hardtail (611/424) and the Trance X trail bike (615/455) - the reach is the same as the Trance X but the lower stack gives it a more racy cockpit. Riders coming from older Anthems will find the new frame longer in reach; try a shorter stem before sizing down.
Enduro race bike with 160/170 mm travel and a flip chip that adjusts geometry between High/Mid/Low - size M ranges 617-623 mm stack and 447-455 mm reach depending on setting. Numbers above use the Mid (factory) setting at 620/451. Use Low for steeper terrain (slacker head angle, longer wheelbase) and High for tighter trail. Between sizes, size up if you ride mostly park or bike-park terrain.
Entry-level gravel/adventure bike with relaxed geometry and 700c wheels with 35-45 mm tire clearance. Size M (555 mm stack / 370 mm reach) is more upright than the Revolt Advanced at the same size (580/378 - taller stack but similar reach because the Revolt uses a longer head tube). Use the AnyRoad if you want a budget gravel commuter; step up to the Revolt for serious gravel racing or bikepacking.
Flat-bar e-hybrid with Yamaha SyncDrive Pro motor, 800 Wh battery, and a 60 mm SR Suntour fork. Size M sits at 618 mm stack / 401 mm reach - a noticeably more upright fit than the Fastroad E+ EX (595/392), which is tuned for sportier riding. Use the Roam for commuting and light-trail; the Fastroad for fitness rides on pavement.
