How to use this tool

1. Choose a GPX track containing elevation or enter a manual climb gradient. Processing happens in your browser; route coordinates are excluded from exports and snapshot links.
2. Enter total system mass, a power you can sustain on a climb, wheel rollout and preferred cadence. This is not a recommendation to ride at a particular intensity.
3. Compare the cadence available in each lowest gear at the modeled speed. The watts-at-cadence columns show the power required to maintain your preferred RPM on those climbs.

Assumptions and limits

Elevation noise, GPS gaps, road surface, altitude and weather change the result. Resampling and median smoothing reduce isolated spikes but cannot repair bad elevation. The report samples non-overlapping 100 m climbs and can miss shorter steep ramps. It does not predict a finish time, choose a safe climbing speed or check whether the proposed components fit your bike. Get component compatibility confirmed before buying.
