Basso Palta II Size Chart & Geometry

Jump to the frame geometry table

Shopping for a used Palta or comparing a dealer listing? Identify the generation first. The official /palta page checked for this guide describes the Palta II and lists Palta III separately. Its five XS-XL sizes have different proportions from Basso's numeric road frames, so a familiar Astra size does not establish your Palta size.

Which bike does this chart cover?

Palta II geometry from the linked Basso /palta product page, captured October 25, 2026. The chart has no manufacturer model year or rider-height windows. Palta III is a separate generation and is not represented by these rows.

The official page calls this design Palta II and lists Palta III separately. Do not transfer these five sizes to Palta III. The chart does not publish rider height or inseam limits, and does not name a model year.

Medium to Large changes reach as well as height

The M-to-L step adds 16 mm reach and 18 mm stack. If Medium already provides enough length, Large may stretch the cockpit rather than simply make it more upright. Compare the candidate with a gravel bike you already ride comfortably.

Check the smaller size steps separately

XS to S adds 16 mm reach, while S to M adds just 3 mm. Stack increases by 14 mm and 21 mm respectively. Do not assume each letter step changes the rider position by a fixed amount.

Frame clearance is not rider clearance

The official page states up to 45 mm tires with 700c wheels, subject to its groupset caveat. That is tire clearance, not standover. Standover is absent from the captured geometry table; ask Basso for the measurement if it is important to your shortlist.
