Buying a tube by tire width alone
A 700×25c tube will physically fit on a 29er rim but stretch to twice its design width and fail. Always match the wheel diameter (the first number) exactly, then the tube's width range covers a window - typically 25-32 mm or 1.75-2.125".
Putting a Presta tube in a Schrader-drilled rim
