The rule
New Jersey permits cyclists to ride two abreast on the roadway. Two abreast permitted on the roadway. N.J. Stat. § 39:4-14.5 prohibits riding more than two abreast except on paths or parts of roadways set aside for the exclusive use of bicycles. See N.J. Stat. § 39:4-14.5 (Riding bicycles abreast).
